Tom Muir and Louise Armstrong are the creative duo behind Kitchen Artefacts, a unique venture based in Te Miro, Waikato. They specialise in crafting kitchen implements from salvaged native New Zealand timbers, combining design, craftsmanship, and the rich history of the materials. Their pieces, born from an evolving workshop and garden, are made to be both functional and cherished, honouring the beauty and legacy of the trees they work with. Each creation is designed to be a lasting asset in the kitchen, with the intention of being passed down through generations.
