Janet Mazenier

Janet Mazenier is a Tāmaki Makaurau based artist whose art practice engages with place, space, time, colour, and materiality. She produces her artwork using various materials, including oil paints and beeswax to create texturally rich, excavated, and striated surfaces. She utilises techniques such as scratching and sgraffito with wet and dry media to create visual depth in her work.

Janet holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland and was awarded a scholarship to undertake her PhD in Creative Practice at Auckland University of Technology.
