Artist statement: My dad had a collection of oddities; among them were many taxidermy animals—both cute and unsettling. I wasn’t allowed to have pets when I was little, so I remember petting them and talking to them as if they were my own. Years ago, I found an odd-looking taxidermy rabbit—the shop owner told me it was a roadkill—in an antique shop in Ponsonby. It immediately reminded me of my dad’s collection. I brought him home and named him Frank. He is now my jellybean-pooping, giant bunny friend.
