Symmetry, mystery, and symbolism intertwine in ‘Four Black Swans’. Each swan gracefully navigates the world’s chaos in solitary elegance. The quatrefoil’s four lobes serve as a gateway merging the realms of the celestial and the earthly. Employing the sgraffito technique. I reveal the narrative by scrapeing away layers of clay.
Sally Tagg is a multidisciplinary artist working in Tamaki Makaurau Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. Majoring in Art and Design at Auckland Teachers College, Tagg has exhibited in a variety of art and design contexts. Tagg’s practice is not medium specific, having moved through sculpture, ceramics and a variety of photographic techniques and applications. Tagg is currently exploring ceramic sculptural works experimenting with combining glass and clay and the creation of large photographic based light-boxes
