Kete Whakairo woven with Natural harakeke & synthetic dyed harakeke. Raukumara represents the kumara leaves which provide sustenance for our tinana.
The group, Ngatai Weavers, practices the art of weaving using traditional Māori weaving skills (raranga), with a focus on preserving and teaching these techniques using both traditional and contemporary materials. Their work has been showcased at the DEPOT Artspace, and they have collaborated on events such as weaving workshops.
