Dr. Richard Coldicutt practices drawing, painting and sculpture. He takes inspiration from nature, which can be seen in his series of water colour cards and prints that showcase some of the daily highlights and magical moments in the Te Hau Kapua (Devonport) region. Richard has studied graphic design, illustration and fine arts. He has a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Fine Arts, a Master of Creative Arts and a Doctorate degree. He works as a professional artist and tutor, lecturing at universities and running workshops.

Some scenes are captured in the fluid spontaneity of watercolour while others are painted in oils or using the highly detailed and difficult technique of airbrushing.
