Exhibition event & Artist Talks: Saturday 12 June 2-4pm

They Were Young Once celebrates New Zealand’s distinctive cultural lineage of which young emerging artists are an integral part. The exhibition gives life to and acknowledges the value of collective action through intergenerational collaboration. The artists and their work manifest an antidote to isolation; generating awareness, creative discourse and mutual support, whilst celebrating the achievements, innovation and visible heritage of this art form.
They Were Young Once is representative of the depth and emerging scope of photography in Aotearoa and brings together the works of NZ photographers, both iconic and emerging in recognition of the creative journey and its origins.
This exhibition also features well known and unseen works by the late Peter Peryer.
