Beverly Rae: 9 Paintings

Beverly attended Elam School of Fine Arts in the early 60’s where the main focus at the time was High Renaissance. However, her tutors, Dame Louise Henderson, Garth Tapper and Kees Hos freed up the style for development and exploration.
In her 40’s Beverly went back to Auckland University and completed a BA majoring in English Literature. She was inspired by much of the text she absorbed, mainly the work of the wonderful Janet Frame who used her art to overcome horrendous difficulties. In this exhibition, 9 paintings, Beverly has delved deep into her memory to express her feelings on a range of subjects.
