Blue Radius: Sustainable Coasts Talk

As part of Depot Artspace’s September exhibition Blue radius, join us on Thursday 15 Sept at 6:30pm for a public discussion on Sustainable Coasts, sea level rise caused by climate change and other ecological emergencies happening along our shores.
Featuring:
Richard Wallis, the director of The Carbon Cycle Company and inventor of the Carbon Cycle Composter. Richard helps individuals, companies and communities to reduce CO2 emissions created through food waste that aims to prevent more than 70 billion tons of greenhouse gases over the next three decades, while feeding people, increasing economic benefits, and preserving threatened ecosystems.
Prof Giovanni Coco is a coastal oceanographer based in the School of Environment in the Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland. He is also a Devonport resident and has particular knowledge of the potential impacts that sea level rise will have on the locality.
Alex Rogers, the Executive Officer of the Hauraki Gulf Forum. Alex will share his korero about the politics of protecting and restoring the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park to lead to a healthier future for Tīkapa Moana, Te Moananui-ā-Toi.
