Clare Slako: Resonance

“‘Resonance’ is a series of digital and analog photography which explores a ‘sense of place’. I created the series during my time in Northland: living at Ruakaka I used my camera to connect with the landscape. These still life were then created in the studio by ‘floating’ the objects on a mirror: I hope they invite us to perceive the extraordinary in the ordinary – something special and precious in our everyday lives and interactions with our environment. I enjoy experimenting with photographic technologies. My practice is also informed by travel and Art History – exploring our connection with land, place and through this, our sense of humanity and culture.”
