Conspicuous Consumption is a degustation of artistic interpretations about the meaning of sustenance and people’s relationship to it, focusing on one of our most evocative and provocative objects of attention: food. Featuring work by Katherine Batchelor, Janette Cervin, Graham Downs, Linda Gair, Robyn Gibson, Bev Goodwin, Weilun Ha, Andrea Halley, Joanna Lewton, Sue Lorimer, Sally Lush, Prue MacDougall, Sean McDonnell, Nyle Major, Biljana Popovic, Mandy Thomsett Taylor and Ruby Watson these artists explore the social, historical, cultural, emotional, sensory and symbolic aspects of what we consume.
