Louise Mair invites you to a closing gathering for her solo exhibition Integration.
Join us for coffee and croissants on the final weekend of the exhibition. This informal session offers an opportunity to spend time in the gallery, reflect on the work, and take part in open conversation with the artist and others in the community. It is a chance to share responses to the exhibition, discuss ideas, and connect over current creative practices.

About Integration
Integration, from the Latin root meaning “to make whole”, explores themes of belonging, transition and acceptance. The paintings emerge from the tension between multiple landscapes: those that have shaped us, those we inhabit in the present, and those we are in the process of creating.
Each work is developed through a layered process. Early marks are guided by memory rather than direct observation, resulting in loose, energetic foundations. These are gradually built upon, with layers scraped back to reveal earlier gestures and traces of time held within the surface.
The square format disrupts traditional portrait and landscape conventions, creating a contained field where shifting geographies coexist. These works operate as spaces of negotiation rather than fixed depictions.
Alongside past and present sits a third element, the viewer. The paintings remain intentionally open and unresolved, inviting personal interpretation and lived experience into each work.
