Matariki Celebration – Béatrice Carlson

As part of Matariki Celebration at the Depot Artspace Béatrice Carlson will be exhibiting “Who is the Pest, I am the Pest!” This work was runner up at the 2010 New Zealand World of WearableArt Awards (WOW) in the South Pacific Section. As a new media artist, Carlson works with Perspex as well as fabric where she digitally paints her work stitching together photographs to create a visual narrative.
Despite being French, “Who is the Pest, I am the Pest” reflects Carlson’s Kiwi origins representing her deep attachment to New Zealand culture and history.
