About the Exhibition
Restoring Takarunga Hauraki and Depot Artspace invite ‘photographers’ of all ages and experience levels to submit their best images celebrating the manu (birds) of Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland.
Whether captured in your backyard, a local reserve, maunga, wetland, or along the coastline, we welcome photographs that highlight the beauty, character, and ecological significance of the birds who share this region with us. Images may include native, endemic, or introduced bird species in natural or urban environments, with a focus on the relationship between nature and place.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Submission deadline: August 30th, 2026, 5pm
Successful submitters will be notified by 09 September 2026.
IMPORTANT INFO:
Artists are invited to submit up to five images for consideration.

Please upload all images before submitting your form.
A selection committee will select 40 images to be exhibited in the DEPOT Lounge from 7–27 October.
About the Restoring Takuranga Hauraki
RTH are a community-led ecological restoration and outdoor learning programme for Takarunga Hauraki (Devonport Peninsula)
They work to enhance the unique biodiversity and ecosystems by eradicating animal and plant pests, restoring native plants and wildlife, championing our trees and waterways, and organising conservation and eco-literacy education initiatives.
