Call for Entries: Pre-Loved, Re-Loved

The Depot Artspace wants to help you on-sell your artworks that may no longer find a place in your home, in our exhibition Pre-Loved, Re-Loved. This is an exciting opportunity for you to not only pass on your treasures but also help us give back to the original artist!

The Depot Artspace is currently working on Artists Resale Royalties Aotearoa (ARRA), an artists’ resale royalty scheme that entitles the artist to receive a royalty payment (normally a percentage of the sale price) from the sales of their artwork on the secondary market. It is seven years since the Ministry of Culture and Heritage produced a discussion paper on ‘Artist Resale Royalties’. Pre-Loved, Re-Loved revisits and reinvigorates the dialogue about royalty payments for artists here in Aotearoa.

Pre-Loved, Re-Loved runs from the 7th – 25th February 2015 and opens in our Main Gallery on Saturday the 7th February at 10am, refreshments will be served from noon.

We will accept pre-loved paintings, prints and objects. All work must be of a high standard, ready to hang, be in a good condition and of a realistic price. After all, post-Christmas purchasers are likely to be searching for affordable treasures. We are looking forward to a diverse exhibition and to catching up with you all after the summer holidays!

Those wishing to contribute to the exhibition should bring in their artworks on Monday the 2nd and Tuesday the 3rd of February between 10am – 5pm.

$10 per entry/artwork.

30% commission plus GST on sold works under $1,000.

15% commission plus GST on sold works of $1,000 and over with 5% of that going to the artist.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a secondary art sale, artists cannot directly sell their own work.
