In September, devastating floods forced DEPOT’s music studios and gallery to close. We need your help to recover and ensure DEPOT remains a hub for artists, musicians and our local community.
DEPOT 2024 in Review
As the DEPOT team gears up for the holiday season and a short break it’s incredible to look back at the year that’s been. It has been a year of upheaval, change and challenges with some amazing wins along the way, and we feel we’re heading into an exciting 2025 stronger than ever!
Alongside our annual exhibition and Sound programmes we launched various new events and initiatives including DEPOT Live, and Devonport’s First Thursdays series which is growing every month building community and supporting local artists.
We were closed for nearly three months due to flooding in September, however we bounced back and opened a new gallery and shop at the historic Council Borough building at 3 Victoria Rd. This is also now home to seven artist studios supporting 15 local artists, and we couldn’t be more excited to support such a talented group of local makers.
None of it could have been possible without our extraordinary creative team and our amazing local partners, artists, creatives, funders and supporters. So, a massive thank you to everyone who’s been with us along the way.
Enjoy the Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you in 2025!
Please Note: DEPOT Artspace will be closed from 22 December and re-open on 14 January along with our current exhibition ‘RE:OBJECT.’
The DEPOT Shop, Toi Toa and ‘Dream Land Aotearoa: A 30 year retrospective of artwork by Onlie Ong’ will remain open throughout the holiday season (excluding public holidays) for all your gifting needs!
