Maker of the Month: Smitten

Our DEPOT Shop | Toi Toa Maker of the Month for April is Smitten.

Every month we’ll be featuring one of our artists and their works available in our gallery shop, so be sure to stop by and view the collection!

Smitten is the result of Katie Smith’s life-long obsession with fabric. She creates textile homewares to co-exist with what you already have and love in your home.

As a small, artisan, New Zealand-based business, Smitten sources good quality natural fibres to print on, with a view to greater sustainability. Their ethos is slow design, and small-scale limited production using water based eco-friendly inks.

All of Smitten’s artworks are original: hand painted, or drawn. Each motif is inspired by everyday patterns that surround us in nature, architecture, or in urban textures.
