Submission to the draft Community Facilities Network Plan

Submission_Image
The Depot Artspace has made a submission to the draft Community Facilities Network Plan in which there is a section on Community Arts Centres.

Among the issues we raised about the draft plan were: its failure to recognise the history of these  facilities – their establishment under legacy councils – and the significance to their communities; the deficits in research that have led to potentially threatening futures for some facilities; and the omission of mutual opportunities in the Council’s stated need to rationalise its resources.

We believe it’s important to protect and cherish communities and their resources.
