Chyna-Lily Tjauw Rawlinson is a multi-disciplinary artist from Tāmaki Makaurau. Her practice shapes itself across a variety of mediums, including film photography, sculpture, paintings, and video. As a multicultural female growing up in Aotearoa, she explores the intersections concerning femininity and cultural identity, with many of her portraits highlighting female representation of Pasifika and Asian wahine.

She studied in Te Whanganui-a-Tara from 2018 to 2021 and has exhibited in multiple spaces in Te-Aro, including Three Eyes Gallery and most recently Toi Pōneke, for her newest group show, “Sailing Lanterns.”

Currently, Rawlinson is based in Ponsonby, working alongside her dad and grandad, making jewellery for the family business, Bijoux. Her copper sculptural pieces derive from her generational trade, with lineage in copper sculpting and jewellery. Her adornments are handcrafted from solid sterling silver and explores her interests in feminine symbolism using botanical themes, as well as more contemporary everyday pieces. They are currently available under her new label, Chills, online and in-store with multiple stockists across Aotearoa.
