DEPOT Artspace invites you to a Sip n’ Sculpt Ceramic Workshop held alongside our first exhibition for 2024, Biomorphic Beings. Within the workshop attendees will create biomorphic sculptures from clay and wax.
Participants will get the opportunity to create sculptures with an anatomical likeness to all bodies, limbs, organs, and beings – speculative or real. The process involves dipping the sculptures in wax, adding a layer of skin like texture to create a fleshy appearance.
This workshop is open to people with all levels of experience and all materials will be provided, but there are limited spaces, so please make sure to book in advance. The wine has been generously provided by our hospitality partner Toi Toi Wines. The $45 ticket price covers the cost of the materials used to make your sculptures.

Biomorphic Beings features artwork by Kiara Schaumkell, Rose Lasham, Sasha Ellis, and Saskia van Dijk. This exhibition explores the concept of bodily regeneration, informed by the biological form as a composition of reconstructed flesh, fluids, and cells. Through a combination of sculpture and painting the artists utilize the malleability of their mediums to reconstruct speculative bodies and delve into the cyclical nature of the human form.
