Bronwen Muir: Bronwen Remembers
May 18, 2013 @ 3:00 pm - May 30, 2013 @ 5:00 pm
Opening in the Main Gallery and Outerspace Gallery
Saturday 18th May 3 – 4.30pm
Bronwen Muir presents a personal history in an exhibition that celebrates her creative self as a New Zealand sculptor. Bronwen Remembers is a survey show featuring sculpture, photographs, drawings, self-portraits, collage and even slides of past visual diaries. Varying from marble to bronze Muir explores the past, present and future of her artistic practice.
Sculpting her history through investigation and repose, Muir’s style is eclectic yet simple; each piece has simultaneous strength and fragility. Bronwen Remembers is based on her memories of life through form, the written word, song and expression. Her desires weave, build and materialise in a multitude of variation where form is not purely physical, as Muir’s imagination, history and spirit play an integral part in the making of these intrinsic pieces.
In conjunction with Muir’s exhibition, Vicki Worthington will also show a series of landscape paintings in Outerspace Gallery.
