What's On

The DEPOT Futures team were honoured to have three seasoned television and film professionals come along and speak about employment in their sector.

The enlightening panel discussion was led by writer-director and ArtsLab Industry Liaison Mary-Lyn Chambers. The guests included former TVNZ Drama and Comedy Commissioner and producer-writer Steve Barr; Development Executive from Sweetshop & Green, RickyLee Russell-Waipuka, well known for working with First Nations projects and as the beloved Chardonnay from Taika Waititi’s Boy; Greenstone TV Senior Producer for Unscripted, Jani Alexander.

Some of the key takeaways for our creative clients were the importance of continuing to create even when jobs are scarce, building community in your field, confidently expressing your strengths and articulating how they could provide solutions to employers, and the value of keeping your vibe high.
