Lucie Blazevska – Born to Create

Lucie is a graphic designer and art tutor, originally from Czech Republic, living in New Zealand. She is a founder/operator of Lucie Blaze custom skateboard decks and creative workshop “Design your own board”. She moved to New Zealand in 2014 and have embraced the culture and art scene over the past few years, further developing her art style from a wide pool of influences and techniques.

Holotype – Aaron King-Cole

Aaron King-Cole (b. 1984, Auckland) lives in Devonport with his partner and two daughters. A self- described Drawer, but whose practice has included printmaking, painting and felting over the years.
The first word within reach to describe King-Cole’s work could be Pattern, but as time is spent with it, pattern might also describe habit, behaviour, and system.

Rock Art: Tradition and Change

This exhibition features images of ancient rock art, or cave paintings, discovered in sites around Aotearoa. It shows how these images have been, and continue to be, referenced in contemporary works by both Māori and Pākehā.

What We Saw, What They Saw: A Personal Journey

November 2019 will be the 40th anniversary of the Erebus disaster which affected not only those, like the artist, who lost loved ones but also many New Zealanders and people from further afield. In February 2011 Kate Hill traveled, together with other relatives of the victims, to Antarctica on the Erebus Remembrance Flight and took a series of photographs from the plane and at Scott Base.

Motu Maua Maunga: Paintings by Chas Foxall

Chas Foxall lives in Auckland and has been an experienced art teacher and Head of Faculty at both secondary and tertiary levels, specialising in photography, painting and design. He has wide experience in photography, having worked as a freelance photojournalist in South East Asia during the turbulent 70’s.
