Alisha has been part of DEPOT Artspace since early 2023 as a Gallery Assistant. Alongside her work with the DEPOT team she has also joined Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki working with the visitor experience whānau. She graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Visual Arts where she majored in sculptural practices.
She values learning from and contributing to a sustainable and accessible ecosystem for the creative sector that can help support artists, art practices and creativity within Aotearoa. She is committed to engaging with and fostering activations that can offer, both, place and people, a moment of introspection, togetherness, understanding, curious reflection and insightful conversation within the everydayness of our lives.
She is an Aotearoa born Indo-fijian artist of Girmitiya descent. Through independent research and process-based disciplines, her practice reconsiders the phenomenology of the post-colonised body as a repository for collective memory.
