North Head Banner

Devonport is in the international news with Michael Tobias, a writer for Forbes magazine, singing its praises. Tobias is an American author, ecologist, mountaineer and filmmaker. His more than 45 books and 170 films have been distributed, translated, and broadcast world-wide. In his recent chilling article, China Declares Global State of Emergency: An Urgent Telegram from Taihu, he includes Devonport ‘the first nuclear-free zone in the world’ among a cache of places he regards as having an enlightened approach to the environment.

‘Devonport is a brilliant example of ecological and non-violence activism – an epicenter of virtue and sanity.’
