DEPOT and Youth Arts New Zealand have teamed up to offer a FREE programme designed for young creatives who want to turn their passion into a sustainable business or side hustle.
Vickie Worthington: People and Place
Vickie Worthington’s work is inspired by the environment in which she lives and her latest exhibition at the Depot Artspace, People and Place, portrays the people and landscape of her former and current homes, Otaki and Waiheke Island respectively. These are striking, distinctively New Zealand paintings, infused with light and levity, inviting viewers to see anew and to take pleasure in their surroundings and the people who inhabit them.
Vickie Worthington trained in Graphic Design in Wellington. Apart from work in this field she has been exhibiting for the last fifteen years with the first of her three exhibitions at the Depot Artspace taking place in 2004.
‘A strong figurative painter, Vickie’s evocative landscape and human habitat paintings have many connections to contemporary New Zealand painting.’ – Zambarta Gallery, Otaki, 2009.
People and Place runs until the 30th of May.
